The National Complete Streets Coalition recently named Indianapolis’ Complete Streets policy best in the country. According to Smart Growth America, in 2012 nearly 130 communities adopted Complete Streets policies, including Indianapolis, and 488 Complete Streets policies are now in place nationwide. Rancho Cucamonga, CA Indianapolis’ Complete Streets ordinance, adopted by the Indianapolis Marion County City-County Council and signed by Mayor Ballard in August 2012, requires all roadways, new construction and reconstruction, to be designed, built and maintained with all users in mind.
